Wow, the days are flying by, and not a blog to be seen. Actually, I was making all kinds of busy plans to be working in the garden right now. But Wyoming weather is a force to be reckoned with...just when I thought I could get out there and roto and plant, it would snow...again! But I am not about to complain about getting moisture - we need all we can get!
Not everyone will be able to identify what's growing in my picture. Only those of us that have been out in the asparagus patch with our magnifying glass would spot that first spear. I should have cut that one in the photo right then, but I waited one day too long - it froze that night. O well, the plant will be fine, and as soon as we get just a little warm weather it will send up another beautiful spear. Yummmm, asparagus is the Best! I just found a recipe for Pickled Asparagus with sliced lemons in it. Sounds good....my Pickled Asparagus doesn't last long around here.
Had a most delightful lunch with our Local Food group at Steve and DeeAnn Doyle's farm. DeeAnn served a mixed greens salad, chicken salad, and mini chicken pizzas. Here is the list of local produce: Wyomato’s ………Pinedale Wy., Honey, homemade butter, chicken for salad and pizza, herbs for pizza sauce, and mozzarella cheese …….Doyle farm. Wow, don't you wish you could serve up a Local feast like that!! I am so glad Steve and DeeAnn got that Magic Milking Machine (see front page article) so we can enjoy more of those Local dairy goods.
